Placing an implant is a two-step procedure. First the implant is surgically placed in the bone through your gum. This is a short procedure done as an outpatient under local anesthetic. Once that is done there is a healing period during which the implant fuses with the bone and becomes a part of you. Next a tooth is put on top of the implant permanently. All you need to do after that is get regular cleanings and check ups like you would for your other teeth. So why would you want to have something you have to constantly take in and out of your mouth or something that may get decayed again or have the embarrassment of your family, friends or relatives finding out that you wear fake teeth when you could have something permanent that looks and works like your own teeth? Just get implants and no one will know. You can eat out any time without having to go to the restroom each time to clean food from under your denture or your bridge.

Secondly, teeth like to move so if there are spaces in your mouth, over time your teeth will shift and mess up your bite. Thirdly with less teeth than you were meant to have you will have difficulty chewing and may not be able to eat some of your favorite foods.
